Paintball guns FAQs
What is scenario paintball?
Scenario paintball can be classified as a genre of paintball games
where large groups of people or teams gather to re-enact or compete
in battles that happened once upon a time. These games can re-enact
battles from famous wars such as World War I, World War II, the Revolutionary
War or others. Likewise, they could just as easily re-enact war scenes
captured on film. The Lord of the Rings movies and Braveheart are two
that could be re-enacted.
Scenario paintball is not something that people come together and decide
to do one morning and then play later that afternoon. These games require
a lot of planning and a lot of people. It can take anywhere from a few
hours to a few days to complete a scenario paintball activity.
Does it hurt to get struck by a paintball?
Well, yes. But if you are worried about getting hurt, perhaps paintball
is not the game for you. Even though it does hurt, that does not mean
that it hurts a lot. Usually when you are hit by a paintball, it feels
kind of like somebody snapping a rubber band on your arm or leg. It
stings for a second, but there is hardly any kind of lasting effect.
For most casual players, it is best that you all agree to keep your
guns firing at less than 280 feet per second in order to avoid injuries.
Also, do not shoot somebody from closer than 20 feet. This could cause
some serious welts or bruises.
How can I tell if my paintballs are too old?
Just like many other things, if a paintball gets too old, it is less
effective to play with. There are a couple of ways that you can try
to tell if the paintball you are playing with is getting too old. One
way is to smell it and smell a new paintball. If it smells a little
different, there is a good chance it is getting old. Likewise, if you
can look at it and see that it has dimples or is not circular like it
should be, that is another sign that it may be getting to be too old
to be effective.
